    Dominic Akers-Paul is a rail service engineer and Windrush activist. He was born in London. His mother, Franca, was born at sea while his grandmother was travelling from St Kitts and Nevis to the UK. She was repeatedly and wrongfully refused a UK passport; as a result, Dominic was told, as a teenager, that he did not have the right to remain.

    Anthony Bryan was born in Jamaica and came to the UK as an eight year-old. He had worked as a painter and decorator for nearly four decades when he was dismissed by his employer, who had been threatened with a fine by the Home Office if it continued to employ him. He was subsequently detained pending deportation to Jamaica - twice. His story was turned into a BAFTA-winning film, Sitting in Limbo.

    Glenda Caesar is a Windrush activist. She was born in Dominica and came to the UK as a three year-old. She had worked in the NHS for 20 years when her career was abruptly ended by the Windrush scandal. She is a prominent member of the Windrush community, and speaks regularly both in the media and at community events.

    Ngozi Chinegwundoh is a teacher and Windrush activist. She was born in London. She has lobbied extensively on behalf of extended family and friends, many of whom remain in Nigeria after being wrongfully denied re-entry to the UK from the late 1970s onwards.

    Janet McKay-Williams works at a centre for children with disabilities, and is a Windrush activist. She was born in Tottenham. She is married to Anthony Bryan. When Anthony was swept up in the Windrush scandal, Janet fought to resolve his status, including fundraising for and winning an injunction to stop the Home Office from wrongly deporting him. Like Anthony, her story is the subject matter of Sitting in Limbo.

    Carl Nwazota is a Windrush activist. He was born in North London. He worked in demolition and waste disposal, but lost access to employment when the Home Office confiscated his passport during a routine application for renewal in 2000. As of December 2021, he has not yet had his UK passport restored.

    Charlotte Tobierre runs a small business, and is a Windrush activist. She was born in Essex. Charlotte’s father, Thomas, was born in St Lucia, and came to the UK at the age of seven. She has campaigned extensively on his behalf since the Windrush scandal broke, particularly on the issue of occupational pensions, losses of which are not reimbursed under the Windrush Compensation Scheme.

He worked in a variety of fields including fitness instruction upon discharge, but his career was cut short when he was told he did not have the right to be employed in 2013. He appears regularly in the media.
